About This Producer

France – Burgundy (Meursault, Côte de Beaune)

In short: Domaine Matrot produces benchmark Meursault whites and elegant reds, combining tradition with sustainable viticulture.

Domaine Matrot is a historic estate in Meursault, with roots tracing back to the early 20th century. Today run by sisters Adèle and Elsa Matrot, the domaine is known for classic white Burgundies of depth and longevity, alongside structured, mineral-driven Pinot Noir.

Meursault whites from Matrot are benchmarks, offering richness balanced by taut acidity and chalky minerality. The estate also produces fine Volnay and Blagny reds, which emphasize purity of fruit and elegant tannins. Farming is organic, with a focus on sustainable practices.

Meursault’s clay-limestone soils provide both body and energy, making it one of the Côte de Beaune’s most versatile terroirs. Domaine Matrot interprets these conditions with authenticity, producing wines that are approachable in youth yet capable of long evolution.
