NV Champagne Delamotte, Brut Blanc de Blancs, France - base 2020 vintage
Varieties: Chardonnay
Sweetness Level: Brut
First created in 1949, this cuvée is the house’s enduring benchmark. Sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, and Oger, the current release is based on the 2020 vintage (70%) complemented by reserve wines from 2019 and 2018. Aged for 48 months on the lees and disgorged in March 2025, with a dosage of 7 g/L, it offers a refined balance of freshness, chalk-driven minerality, and subtle textural depth—an immediate yet structured expression of the Delamotte style.
Grown on these chalky soils, Chardonnay is quite austere at birth, so the wine is left to develop on its lees for 4 to 5 years before disgorgement. The disgorged wine is ready to enjoy and will improve for 2 to 6 years.
