2022 Wieninger, Wiener Gemischter Satz, Ried Ulm 1ÖTW Nussberg, Austria

Sourced from the Nussberg's steep, south-facing Ulm vineyard (ried) overlooking the Danube, this biodynamically farmed Gemischter Satz is rooted in ancient limestone soils formed from a prehistoric coral reef, still rich with fossilized shells. A traditional field blend of nine varieties, it offers expressive aromas of ripe white and yellow fruits layered with distinctive chalky minerality. Full-bodied yet remarkably poised, the 2022 combines concentration, texture, and vibrant freshness, finishing with a persistent saline note that reflects the unique limestone terroir of Vienna's Nussberg.

This is intense, grippy and spicy on the full-bodied palate and still drying due to its youth, with licorice aromas in the finish. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
