"Alexandre Abel feels that the 2022 has less sheer power than other recent hot and dry vintages, and the result shows very well. Forest berries, turned earth, cigar smoke and pain d'épices meld into a riveting nose. A lightly musky tone sets in on the palate, too. Glossy tannins and valiantly fresh acidity give this excellent focus right through the strikingly long finish."

There is again evident minerality to the gorgeously textured and even finer medium weight flavors that are caressing but punchy, all wrapped in a firm, indeed almost chewy, youthfully austere and balanced finale. This is a wine that’s going to need at least moderate patience as it’s presently compact and tightly wound."
