About This Producer
Vincent Girardin is a refined, contemporary Burgundy maison focused on estate-driven wines of precision, freshness, and place.
Maison Vincent Girardin reflects a modern, quietly confident expression of Burgundy rooted in terroir and restraint. Founded in 1980, the house is now led by President Jean-Pierre Nié, with winemaker Éric Germain at the helm since 2003. Under their stewardship, the focus has shifted toward greater precision, sustainability, and a stronger emphasis on estate and long-term partner vineyards.
In both vineyard and cellar, the philosophy is one of minimal intervention. Sustainable viticulture, careful parcel selection, reduced oak influence, and low-impact winemaking allow each site to express itself clearly. Large-format and neutral barrels are favored, sulfur is tightly controlled, and élevage is adapted to each vineyard rather than imposed stylistically.
The resulting wines are defined by clarity and balance. Whites from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet emphasize tension, minerality, and length over richness, while reds from Volnay and Pommard are elegant and expressive, marked by pure fruit and supple tannins.
