Paul Achs is a leading Austrian producer based in Gols, Burgenland, specializing in red wines from the Neusiedlersee region. Since taking over the family estate in the 1990s, Achs has elevated it into one of Austria’s top addresses.
His focus is on Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, and Zweigelt, as well as Pinot Noir. The wines are biodynamically farmed, elegant yet concentrated, showing spice, dark fruit, and minerality. Whites and rosés are also produced in small quantities.
The warm Pannonian climate moderated by Lake Neusiedl allows for full ripening, while diverse soils add nuance. Paul Achs’ wines are benchmarks for Austrian reds.
