Founded in 1975, Hamilton Russell Vineyards is one of South Africa’s most famous estates, pioneering fine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. Owner Anthony Hamilton Russell has established the domaine as a benchmark for Burgundian-style wines from the Cape.
Pinot Noir here is elegant and savory, with notes of red fruit, spice, and earth, while Chardonnay combines ripe citrus and stone fruit with saline minerality. Both are acclaimed for their restraint and age-worthiness.
