Founded in 1745, Cossart Gordon is the oldest company within the Madeira Wine Association and one of the island’s most prestigious names. Today it continues under the umbrella of the Madeira Wine Company, preserving centuries of fortified wine tradition.
The house produces the full range of Madeira styles, from the driest Sercial to the richest Malmsey, each marked by the island’s signature high acidity and oxidative complexity. Long cask aging, sometimes for decades, creates layers of nutty, caramelized, and citrus flavors.
